The last year has been a year of preparation. Preparation for retirement, preparations for our house while we are away, and preparations for our loop. Of the three, preparing our house has been the most difficult and the most work.
To prepare for the loop we had to make sure all our paperwork was in order (passports, licences, permits etc) and get medical, dental and eye checkups. We spent a lot of time finding spare parts for the boat, storage solutions for the boat (and for our land-stuff). Our house is now part house, storage unit, staging area and construction zone.
For boat spares, since we started far in advance, we were able to get spares and extra tools on sale (Black Friday, Boxing day etc), boat upgrades, and boat projects done well ahead of time. Now waiting for spring launch so we can load up the boat and clear our space at home.
